Thank you for the comment :) It's always refreshing to find people with a similar view (there doesn't seem to be too many of them), maybe then there is hope of finding answers to these questions. Because I read books on the subject and no one is giving any answers, they are basically saying "figure it out on your own". Feel free to contact me if you want to discuss design and integrity further.

I came across this 100% fairtrade organic design studio yesterday that is quite inspiring: UHC. They don't do jobs for clients who are ethically wrong, but they still don't sit passivly by watching the world, they actually do something for the better of the environment and the society. Which is basically a more responsible way of doing what I mentioned in point A. It's all about finding a way of doing our job that we feel work for ourselves and our principles, but it's difficult.

yes, that's great, let's be idiots

i too am struggling with these ideas - in the field of metalwork and design

you are not alone in wanting to have integrity - i think there are two sides: moral or ethical integrity (very important in life - personal conduct matters); and design integrity (also important but i am finding, very difficult to define)

at this stage i'm trying to get an idea of what design really means for me - it's got something to do with a process and the outcome

and time is not money and it's really good to carry a notebook

i suggest 'read poetry' as an important addition

good luck and look forward to seeing the designs
