About

Hello, I’m Maria Hammerstrøm, a 21-year old graphic design student at Westerdals School of Communication in Oslo, Norway. Being a graphic design student with more integrity than what’s good for me, I decided I needed a place to write about the frustrations of educating myself into a profession that doesn’t go easy on my principles, in an attempt to find answers to how I best can conduct my job as a designer without selling my soul or doing meaningless work. To help myself focus on what’s important in my life/career, I’ve written myself a manifesto.

It’s personal, not business
Don’t think outside the box, change the box
Ignore everybody
Gaze into night skies
Design with your mind
Stick to your principles
Fight for what you believe in
Stop meaningless consumption
Question everything
Search for truth
Be critical
Be free

This website only show work I think have an important message. I have a full design portfolio at underfundig.com. You can write to me at maria [at] underfundig.com.
